2008 Colbalt LT 2.2L..fuel Filter AWOL?

Ok, I have read a bunch on things on this but when I have found is conflicting. I have the new filter, which per the illustrated parts breakdown is right by the tank near the PAX tire. After a long search, I can not find the stupid thing.

This is my girl friends car and it is running sluggish despite new spark plugs and other MX done to it. I suspect is needs a new filter as it has 150K on it with the original filter.

So, where the heck can it be, and is there are resources to reference? Vehicle was bought in NH.

usually it is right there in the area you took a picture of. I've never really paid attention to see in my 09 has it there or not my 07 did.

If the car is from California, the fuel filter would be in the gas tank!

Comi-fornia...It was purchased in NH...humm. I would hate the pull the entire tank without a lift.

These are the photos of mine, You definitely dont have one in the same spot =P fuel tank it is =\. Not sure but you should be able to remove the back seat and take stuff out from there. Not 100% sure, but ive done it on other cars. Hope this helps!
