Unhappy Can I Swap a Cobalt 2006 2.2L with 2007 2.2L?

I somehow blew out my 2006 2.2L cobalt engine and looking to swap engines. I found a 2007 2.2L engine and wondering if I would be able to have the 2007 engine put in my 2006 cobalt without any problems with computer working with the 2007 engine? Also, not being a mechanic, can someone tell me what else I will need when swapping? Like which gaskets and extras I will need?

Thanks!

You would have to put the head from your 06 onto the 07 engine for it to work in your car

Or change the PCM for an ECM. Not even sure the crank reluctor has the same amount of teeth.

Now that you mention it, the crank is different as well for sure which is why I still need to buy a new crank for my build haha, the engine harness would have to be swapped as well then.

Who pays for all those weddings? Lol

Sounds like a lot of trouble. Shouldn't be too hard to find an '05/'06 2.2 though, keep looking.
