What is the Smaller Guage Wire that Splits From the Postive Battery Cable?

Hi all, I've been searching for hours trying to figure what the smaller gauge wire that splits from the positive cable goes to on my Chevy Cobalt LS 07.
Previous owner put large 50 amp fuse in serial with it, prolly for a stereo/amp system and it came apart as I taking it out to check on it.
Car will not start, gets power, but nothin on ignition not even a siliniod click, dash says power steering/low fuel and have had recent issues with the connection where I had to wiggle and readjust battery cables to start.
Just trying to figure out if this may be contributing to the issue

Garage
Wasn't added by previous owner, that is factory OEM and powers your BCM.

Awesome, Thanks for the reply! Was able to replace it last night and she took right off. Fuse had looked like it burnt thru on one spot but in fact was the only area that wasn't coated in corrosion. Explains a lot of my symptoms. Thank you very much, and take car.
