A/C on 2010 Cobalt Blowing Only Hot Air

My 2010 cobalt is causing nothing but problems as of late. I brought it used and the first year, besides the 3 recalls I had to bring it in for, it functioned great. I still love it despite not getting as good of gas mileage as it should. There is an after market audio system that was put on by the previous owner so OnStar and Sirius XM don't work and it may contribute to some issues including gas mileage. I know it is close to the panel for temperature control so motivated sure if is now effecting it. Most issues I have gotten away after I let my car sit for the night but this one has not. I turned my heating on a few days ago at night since it was cold and Windows kept fogging. Them once windows were clear shut it off. The last few days have been warm in Portland so I tired to turn the A/C back on but it is only blowing out super hot air. Sometimes I have to trick the A/C back on by turning it to max speed and to maximum hit and the full car air circulation then I switch it to A/C and it will pop on. That has not worked. A few days ago it had no problem switching from A/C to heat but no it is just heat and when I turn off the heat it still shoots out hot air just not as intensely. I know the fan works because the intensity can adjust. I checked the fuses and they seem to be fine. I tapped the console and then my passenger airbag display fell inside the center console and I have no idea how to pull that back in. Anyway, does anyone have any advice. I am not a fan of heat mainly use it to defrost windows and such as artificial heat makes me very sick and with my heart condition (I had a heart attack) I can't have an inoperable A/C unit. As I said before it was working great a few days ago and could swap back and forth but now it is all heat all the time. The best I have gotten is when I woke up today and got in my car it was just blowing tepid air, no heat and no cool air. Then after I tired to get the A/C to work properly it started to blow hot air again and then when turned off still leaked hot air. I now have a massive headache and feel super sick so please help. I don't want to spend a lot of money fixing my A/C since I plan on trading it in for a newer car in the next few months so spending a lot of money to fix it just doesn't make sense. Though with the intermittent issues I have had,and A/C is a very important issue to me since it affects my health severely, I can't say I will buy Chevy again and will probably swap to Ford. PLEASE HELP!

Please swap to Ford and let us know if you are happier.

Like I always say sometimes you need a specialist, and well specialist cost money, and you sir need an A/C specialist. If you value your life fork out a few bucks and get your car fix or at least get it fixed for the next guy that may buy it. Don't be a scrooge, it's only money.
