New owner seeking maintenance advice.

I bought an '09 Cobalt LT XFE the other day with 130000 miles on it.

I'm super poor, but I want this car to last a few years. What are the immediate maintenance tasks I should do that I can accomplish on my own (I am mildly proficient at mechanic work), and what should I take it in to a mechanic to do right away?

First make sure is topped off and not to black. If you don't know the last time it was changed, change it.

Give more details on your LT. What do you know HAS been done to it. Such as
Tires
Oil change & filter
Plugs. & compression check
O2 sensors
Shocks & Struts
Brake pads & rear shoes or pads
Belts & radiator hoses
Coolant system flush & change
Auto tranny fluid change
cam chain tensioner

Much of this is just a check and motherhood statements
But you know GM gave a warrenty on emmissions system up to 100k miles. Most of the time they make it past it.
That is not to say they're working optimally for you.

Oil was changed 2500 miles ago. It's clean, but I'll be changing it soon. Tires are good, but that is really all I know about the maintenance it has had. Drives really well, and no check engine light.

This could have been me but when i bought my 2010 LT it had 115,000miles on it and about 500 miles later the clutch blew out but if your an automatic then you shouldnt worry obviously, but also my shocks were cracked and it took me awhile to ply them of the caps when i changed them so if you can, just maybe look and make sure there are no cracks...im sure they can last awhile but i couldnt deal with it.

Be Happy!
