Removing Crankshaft Without Pulling Engine

Hello, I have a 2008 cobalt LT with 2.2L ecotec engine with a spun rod bearing. I know because I dropped the oil pan and the #1 cylinder rod bearing is gone and the crank jounal is messed up. Like to know if it is possible to remove the crank from the bottom and replace.

Looks like I just need to remove the crank girdle and the crank would drop out. I have replaced the timing chain and balance chain in the past so I know how to get that end apart but not sure about the transmission/flywheel/starter side. Is this do-able? Any tips?

Thanks in advance!
