Sarting Problem

2007 cobalt. I drove in to a business parking spot went in and came back out within 5 min and the engine would not turn over. No clicking, nothing. I had power, lights work horn everything just wouldn't turn over. Tried to jump it with 2 different vehicles and still wouldn't start. Checked the terminals in the trunk and they were tight and clean. Called AAA and had it towed to my house. The flatbed driver angled the car to lower to the driveway and got in to put it in neutral and roll it off then turned the key and started the car right up. Shut it off and was able to restart it again and drive it off the truck onto the driveway. I don't know where to start looking. Any clues where I should start?? Thanks in advance. Willie.

Is it a standard or automatic? If Auto...then check the parking switch center console if standard, check clutch safety switch. Also for the automatic, verify it will start in neutral.

It's an automatic. Went out this morning and it started right up, no problem at all. Put it in neutral and once again started no problem.

First time I've heard of a starter failure on a Cobalt. Lucky You! These cars are known for all kinds of failures but ....
