Problems with My Cobalt
Car is 2006 Cobalt LS 2.2 Automatic ~142k miles.
TLDR; Sluggish, No power, New MAP/MAF sensors, Removed and cleaned TB. Dreaded "engine reduced power" codes.
A few nights on the way home the car was sluggish and was bogging down. A year or so ago when it was starting to do it, it was a dirty throttle body. So naturally I figured it was time to clean it again. I DC'ed the battery, left the keys in my pocket and took off the TB and cleaned it, gasket looked fine so I put everything back and then the car wouldnt start. Checked plugs and they were fouled/dirty. Figured while I was replacing them, I might as well change the air filter. Got everything back together and she still was fighting me to start. Finally got her to start and she threw a few codes at me. P0106 and P0101. So I replace the MAP and MAF sensor and she was still fighting me to start. It was already getting late. Let her sit over night. This morning she fired right up. Everything seemed fine. Went for a test drive, about ~6 miles, and was still sluggish. Babied her around the neighborhood. And then I got engine reduced power. Threw codes P0068, B2AAA, P0101 and P0106.
I clear the codes and everything goes back to normal. Was able to drive maybe ~100 feet before it threw the engine reduced power at me. Before I just run out and throw parts at it. I was trying to see if anyone else has experienced problems like this and what they did to fix it. I have seen a few posts say replace the TB but wanted a second opinion before spending ~200 bucks on a new one.
