Loss of Power

I've recently had the fuel tank replaced on my 07 Colbalt, as it was in a serious bad condition. All seemed to be good until a few days after.

Driving along the interstate around 60 MPH the car loses the ability to accelerate. I still had power in the car Radio, light etc......but the fuel gauge went form a quater tank to empty. I managed to get the car over to the side of the road, I still had the ability to steer. I turned to car off, and then back on and everything worked fine again. This has happend twice.

The garage I had the work done claim that it has nothing to do with putting in the new fuel tank.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

many thanks

If fuel gauge goes to empty it means you're losing the ground to the fuel pump and sending unit. You could ask the garage to check the wiring at the tank. If it's a decent place they will on their dime for good customer relations.
