I have a 2005 Colbalt, and for some odd reason I don't have a passenger air bag light built into my dash? Such as air bag on or off light?

It just seems to have a black piece of plastic instead of a screen.

One question, Is this for the Service airbag note on the info panel and or the passenger airbag light in the middle being off most of the time, even when people are sitting there

See now i have the service airbag message come ON and the indicator go to OFF from being ON with my girlfriend in the passenger seat. the problem i noticed was that we plugged in a power converter to the cig outlet (accessory outlet) by the parking brake so she could use her laptop. And as soon as we turned the power on the service msg came ON on the DIC and the indicator went from ON to OFF. As soon as we unplugged the power converter everything was back to normal.

NOW THE QUESTION IS WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT CIG LIGHTER (ACCESSORY OUTLET) HAVE TO DO WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SYSTEM???????????????????

Happened to me as me and my girl were leaving and creeping through the parking lot..... all i did was kill the car and restart it and it went away......

*Possibly due to cig lighter accessory outlet as well

Well there is some legitimacy to this issue. I took the car in on Tues. and they did find a code. The code refers to the passenger detection sensor for the airbag. They did replace it but as soon as they put a load on the system it came back. The dealer told me that there was nothing they could do because the replacement should have fixed the code. They said GM is looking into it and as soon as they find something I should hear something. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.
