Control arms

2009 LT with 150000 MI I want to replace the lower control arms should I go with regular stamped Prime Choice or upgrade to the aluminum arms they seem to have the same bushings and ball joints

You will find the forged aluminum control arms stiffer and lighter than the welded stamped steel arms.
I found mine on line at RockAuto for about 100-ish each.
Couple them with a full set of ACDELCO FE5 shocks and struts and it turned my 08 LS into a fun little, much more responsive, car.

Update well I got the fine looking aluminum control arms the removal of the old control arms was a PIA the big bolt to the rear bushing would not come out I snapped one off and the other one un screwed but wouldn't come out because it was frozen to the steel sleeve inside the bushing both had to be cut out with a sawzall making two cuts above above and below the bushing but inside the bracket area then the control arm came out it took many hours next came the cage nut it Had to come out as the bracket was broke and the top of the bolt & nut were still fused together again with the sawzall to make two horizontal cuts at the cage area of the bodywork , break the cage out and get the nut and top of bolt out, install was much easier using new bolts from Chevy for about $16 each with washers and nut, then weld a patch over the over the slot to cover the nut. The car does feel a whole lot better now less clunking and a bit stiffer in the feel of the steering wheel .

I’m having the same problem. I saw a video on YouTube of a guy who used an electric carving tool to make cuts in the sleeve. I didn’t want to do this or cut the bolt itself because I need the car drivable ASAP.
I think I might be out of options though
