Aftermarket Wheel Question

Alright guys quik question for ya, Had a set of 16" motegi racing f77 rims correct offset and bolt pattern etc. BUT they ended up annialating my brakes and even torquin my lug nuts to 100 lbs id always end up walking to my car and finding a snapped stud. I know the oem brakes are pretty flimsy on the cobalts (along with the rest of the front end lol) but im wondering if im doing something wrong or if i should upgrade to a slotted rotor and switch pads if im gonna run rims because i sold the motegis at the end of fall and picked up a set of 17" falken circuit specs from my foremans son and jusst with the problems i had with the motegis im a little sceptical of installing the falkens now so im just lookin for some opinions thanx alot guys!

Rims had nothing to do with your just took it to a horrible shop that used a air gun to tighten your lugs and not a tq wrench. You will be fine with stock brakes. I ran 17's and 18's on my 2.2 sedan.
