Would They Fit?

just a quick question, and i really dont have the time to search every forum on this site to see if it was answered, but when buying aftermarket springs, is the only difference between the base and ss set of springs the 10mm? im assuming so, since the sc/tc springs are a swap out, but just making sure. thanks.

dimensionally they will fit with no issues. They also lower the car by 10mm

They are much stiffer though, and if you don't upgrade your shocks, it'll ride like poo.

Short answer? Too much spring for the shock.

Quick explanation, i can find a better one and copy paste if you want:

You springs support the car, and the stiffer they are, the better they withstand body roll.

your shock does all the work. It keeps that stiffer spring in check. A soft spring is lazy and bounces slowly. A stiffer spring will rebound much faster, and make your car seem to jump.

With a stiffer spring, you need a stiffer shock, or the spring is not controlled correctly.

Your FE1 struts/shocks are not designed for an aggressive spring, and will wear out quickly because they are overworked.

thank you so much, i understand better now. just to clarify, the lowering springs designed for a base will work alright, correct? or is it in the same boat, but just wont wear out as quickly as the ss springs

All in the same boat. Any spring designed for a cobalt is the same. Eibach sells the same sportlines to SS owners as base model owners, there is no difference, same with H&R etc, etc... The only reason they post different numbers is because the SS starts 10mm lower.
