Mushy Brakes

Hi all,
I have an 08 Cobalt Sport. Over the past 3 months the brake pedal has acquired a very mushy feel to it. Stopping power seems diminished. The pedal travel and braking action still feel relatively linear. When depressed, the pedal doesn't sink to the floor, but it IS very easy to push it all the way to the floor (a noticeable difference from before the "problem arose". Any ideas? I'm taking it in for service anyway tomorrow and will have them look at it. Thanks in advance!
