Smile Rattling Noise

My Cobalt makes a weird noise kinda like a rattling noise when I go over bumps. I went ahead and replaced the struts with the springs already attached. All together it cost me $350.00. It didn't fix the problem. Does anyone know what this noise is?

Thanks,
Joseph

dude it's normal. if it DIDN'T rattle, that's when you have to worry. these cars are ridiculous. BUT, did you replace the strut mounts too? cuz that could be something

Yes I did replace the strut mounts. It all came as one. The bearing plate, spring, and the strut. It sounds like the noise is coming from my steering wheel column. While were on the thread do you know where I can get a radio kit with the by-pass circuit?

i wouldn't worry about the sound too much yet. steering is fine though? it might be a control arm bushing or something, possible ball joint. but mine does it too even after i completely upgraded the suspension. yea let me find it

Yeah. Steering is fine. I did some research and other people say that it is play inside the steering column where a plastic gear sits. I installed some kick ass projectors with hid bulbs. I love Cobalts.

Mine rattles in a few different spots, but I know what causes it. Which is nothing too serious, ha. I mean hell, my door handle rattles when the bass hits too hard in my car.

It scares me because it sounds like something is loose and is going to fall off.

No no no, you got it wrong! All cobalts were built with the 'rattle option' standard! Other companies make you pay big bucks for that awesome rattling noise but GM was willing to give it to us standard!
