Replacing an E Brake Cable
I have a 2008 Cobalt LT with rear drum brakes. Not long after doing a complete brake job with all new parts and having the rear brakes adjusted by a shop( got tired of working on the ground, I'm getting too damn old for this stuff) I pulled the E brake handle up and it just flew right to the top of it's travel with barely any tension at all. I have since pulled the rear wheels suspecting that one of the cables had popped out of the E brake lever. Well, I found both of them to be installed properly. With the drums off I had someone pull the handle up and the left cable did not move, So it is apparent that the cable has snapped somewhere. Has anyone ever replaced the cables? Are they separate cables or do you have to replace cables to both wheels? Has anyone replaced the cable or cables and if so, how involved is it? It looks like you have to take half the interior apart to replace them? I appreciate any input. Thanks
