Where Can I Get This Piece?

What is the plastic piece that sits between the spring and the bottom of the strut to keep them from rubbing called? Going to be installing everything new but cant seem to find this part.

Also do I need this part? Could I just put the new spring onto the strut? I thought metal on metal was bad tho.

It is called the spring seat. You should be able to get this piece or replacement aftermarket at any car parts store.

Definitely don't want the metal-to-metal contact...GM parts dept., of local Auto Zone, Advance Auto, NAPA, O'Reilly's...etc...either can assist.
