Rim Question

whats the widest rim you can put on a cobalt without doing any modifications? I have some 17X7 rims picked out but would like the 18 in rims but they are 7.5 in deep. Also my car is lowered if that matters

17x9 and their special order and cost about 1k. The tires run on them are 255/40/17

17x7 is your stock wheels I believe and those are what my winter wheels are. Have 18x8's and 18x7.5's also.

I use 17X7''s with 40mm offset and 215's. No complaints on that size. You have to remember one thing about upgrading size, generally the popular sizes have the best prices on tires. Too wide will cost you way too much for just street driven and its only a cobalt, not a corvette. Just saying, don't waste money on a car that isn't a torque monster.
