Front End Work

So lately I've been feeling like my car needs a complete overhaul, and after boost I will need a better way to control it, so I've decided to work on some things. In order to keep it simple, I'll focus on just the front end for now.

I would like to do a Brembo swap. What would be the optimal way to do this? Will I need the LNF hub assembly? CED sells FE5 ('08-'10) control arms that I would like for $132 x 2, plus Powell's trailing CAB for $200. CED also sells 'competitive driving' steering knuckles for $319 each. Of course there's also the LNF 23mm swaybar that I'd put in while I'm there and Powergrid endlinks to go with it. I've also got to dump these rusty springs and I'd replace them for YYZs. Lightweight wheels and performance tires are on my list as well. I still need wheel bearings too.

If there's anything more that can be added or improved upon, I want to hear it.

I believe the only difference between an FE3 and and FE5 LCA is the CAB stiffness. So if you're going to be replacing the OEM CAB any ways you don't need to by a more expensive LCA. I would personally go with the MOOG ''Problem Solver'' for the CAB, better design.

I drive an FE1 car. Everything minus the shocks and springs are stock.

When you say better design, what do you mean? More durable? Better performance? Both?

That Moog bushing is awesome! Mine haven't failed yet and its the same amount of time that both of my regular ones failed last time

Both, they are structurally stiffer and won't come apart from the outside sleeve.

They are made like a ball joint instead of a bushing. Only bushing that should be made for a control arm bushing

I'll look into that then, thanks.

Any other ideas?

Yes, all HHR have FE5 LCAs so if you can find some at the junkyard you will save cash since you're going to change the bushings any ways.
