What is the treadwear number on the Pilot? If you're not going to be racing or into heavy cornering I'd go with the Michekin defender, it has a treadwear number of 830. It changed my LT like day and night. Put 2 of them on my LS this week. The pilot is a high performance tire but wears awfully fast.

I have BFG g-force sport comp 2s and they're very good performance tires for the money. I was so happy to have them replace my Toyo Extensa A/S set, which were poor in any condition. High performance tires do tend to wear much quicker though. Like anything, it's a compromise you have to make if you want superior handling.

Summer tires for summer, winter tires for winter. Or fail big time.

Winter tires are mandatory in Quebec between December 15th and March 15th. If you wreck between that time without suitable winter tires, insurance won't pay out.

I've got Michelin x-ice xi3s. Fantastic tires I'd say, made my Goodyear UltraGrips look like racing slicks in slush.

thanks for input guys! a/s 3 has treadwear number 500 coby 7. and i do want more of a performance tire. i have pilot sport as+ on right now and they are a great handling tire but i am suffering from the well known sidewall wear and cracking.i was hoping these do not suffer the same problem and would still like to know from anyone who has used them

---------- Post added at 06:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:15 AM ----------

i also was looking at nitto motivo but they lack the small bit of winter performance the a/s 3 has

Yeah! Ha! I live in Delaware. Mostly 40's in winter. No need for a winter tire although I normally do. I don't see how you live up there! I am heading to Florida!!

I'm looking at the hekkapellita 7's for my cruze. Might look at the Michelin x-ice as well although last set I had absolutely sucked
