Upper control arms need replacement

I have a 07 cobalt ls that has both front / upper driver passenger control arms go very bad. It destroyed 3 of my tires already. So I'm looking to replace them. I look at jcwhitney and am not sure what arms will be best ? Monroe brakes offered about 900 to do just the arms that's outrageous. Anyone that can help me out ?

First of all there are no upper control arms on a Cobalt. Because of the macpherson strut there is only a lower control arm. Don't go to Monroe brakes if they want to replace your upper control arms. So now you'll have to clarify what you need a strut or a lower control arm.

So I guess it must be the lower control arms on my front driver and passenger side , both are shot. Not struts as they showed me control arms and the bushings are bad

I noticed my both my front tires are wearing on both the inside and outside and the steering feels stiff and awkward to me. Does anybody know if this is also related to control arms or any other part for that matter? Any help would be appreciated, even if its direction to another thread :D

If you are gonna take it to a shop for an alignment they will tell you if it's just the adjustment or you need anything else. It could be the struts, tie rods, ball joint, they will tell you and then you can replace the parts by yourself if you want to save some money.

Or you could jack up the wheels and shake them up and down and see if you have some play before taking it for alignment.

I have to replace my passenger side lower control arm , I saw the price is reasonably and looks fairly easy to do ( on YouTube at least ) will see how it goes for me...

You might need an intermediate steering shaft if it's hard to steer.
