Suspension question

Hey guys. Sorry to do this, I've been using the search all morning and basically have run out of time (back to work and doing this right after I get off. ) I blew my struts and shocks out with my springs. Gonna upgrade to FE5. Will both older or newer FE5 struts and shocks work with my 2006 LT. Like if I went 2009 suspension. Or would I need to use pre 2007. And do I need to do control arms and all that jazz or can I just use the struts and shocks. (Money is tight and can't do everything at once) . It's tein springs.

You can do just shocks and struts no problem, and 08+ fe5 are what you want for the best handling

All the struts and shocks across all Cobalts are directly interchangeable. Since you have lowering springs, you'll be good to upgrade to the FE5 stuff (it's not recommended to upgrade to FE5 struts & shocks with the FE1 springs). Like RRob said, the 08+ is the best handling FE5. That's off the SS Turbo. They can be found at crate engine depot or amazon.

Anything aside from the struts and shocks is optional. I'm still running FE1 control arms, endlinks, etc. with the FE5 struts & shocks and Canuck Motorsport springs. No problems so far.

Thanks guys. Life savers. Was basically putting parts on hold since I was reading that everything had to be changed in order to work, but I did know interchangable. Thank you for clarifying this.

Driver Side Strut

Passenger Side Strut

Rear Shocks (Need 2, one for each side)
Just for clarification, FE1 hardware is what came standard on 2.2s, FE3 is the middle of the road suspension on 2.4s and the FE5s are the high performance stuff that came on SS/SCs and SS/TCs.
