Whirring Noise

Just looking for advice on what to do next. When going 40+mph there is a steady whir-like noise coming from the front end. Bought the car with new tires on them, tread looks good...no uneven wear or trouble spots. Thought for sure it would be the wheel bearings so I just replaced both front wheel hub assemblies but the noise continues. Could it be just new tire tread causing the noise? I'm going to get an alignment done soon, but it doesn't sound like a wobble or adjustment issue. Just a steady, constant whirring. Any thoughts/suggestions on what to look at/replace?

We're the tires balanced good ? Little weights on the inside, or outside I guess (hate that). Hopefully not 3+ weights on them.

I was going to say if it sounds like high rpms then do wheel bearing, I just did mine today and problem solved, but...you did them already. Can test them by jacking up and putting in neutral and spinning tire while holding spring , if springs vibrates it's your new bearing (new thing come broken sometimes)

Good luck. I have a beater 2006 cobalt now as my beater beater...for when I work on my 2001. Own two Volkswagen gtis , 2001 and 2011.

Thanks Hedgehodge for reply. It really sounds like a typical worn wheel bearing, or truck tires with off road tread going down the highway. I get no vibration on springs when turning tires with car on jacks. Car goes straight as arrow down road too with no vibration in steering wheel. It's my daughters car, so I'm used to a 2017 Fusion, so I'm wondering if the cabin noise is just a lot quieter than an older Cobalt, but it still bugs me. Any other ideas welcomed!

It's possible that it's just a loud tread pattern. I doubt you have anything nearly close, but my Direzza ZIIs sound like all-terrain tires on the freeway, and make a "sticky" noise on asphalt.

My wife's Xi3 winter tires can be pretty noisy. What tires does it have?

Which model of Pirelli A/S? There are quite a few.

Owner before me put them on. They look like something you'd get at Discount Tire or Belle, but new with lots of tread and no worn areas

Based on all the reviews on Tire Rack, it sounds like they are the complete opposite of loud tires, and are 1st out of 43 Grand Touring A/S tires. Tread pattern design appears to agree with that consensus.

So I'm thinking tires aren't the issue.

I believe if it's that noisy it's a bearing. 5 years ago I installed a new bearing and it was noisier than the bad one. The seller replaced it and it just let go the past month so ordered a new one. You just need a good pothole to ruin these, they are pretty weak.
