Up until the 05 Si, you can beat. The Si from 2001-2005 only have 128Hp. After 05, they remodeled the civic and gave the Sis' a REAL engine, 198hp vtec. So you have no chance against the 06 and up. But a cobalt SS will own an Si of any year pretty much...

whoa whoa.. pre 06 si's had 160 hp. im telling u.. a 2.2 is gonna have trouble with them. especially since maybe only 1% of hondas that are left are stock.. theyre light cars.. i dont think theyre really that fast but unless ur 2.2 is fully bolted and tuned and a 5 spd ur gonna have alot of trouble.

itll be close or a lock if u got cams and wutnot but if ur just bolt and tune its gonna be tough.

yea i woulda never thought that they would be that close given us with a 4banger n his v6.. tibbys must just have problems getting all that power to the ground somehow

reason im asking is cuz my buddy just bought one with the 6 spd.. i have a feeling me vs. him would either be extremely close or him slightly ahead depending.. he never drove a manual before so id have the advantage there

Sorry man, but Canadian Si's in that tear group only have 128Hp. I should know, a friend of mine has an 01 Si, for about 4 years now. Kinda slow. Not much faster than my 01 civic DXG was.

Maybe in Canada, but in the US the 1.6 and the 2.0 both had 160 hp, the only difference was the tq specs. In 06 the 2.0 get revamped to almost 200 hp

Doing some research over the internet because I do know that some canadian cars are built differently than the same corresponding models in the US but with the civics , the only difference between th US SI and Canadian SIR is the brakes, heated mirrors, and the name.

OK more research intailed that the Canadian hatch is called an SI but is the same model as the US EX and has only 130 hp, but there is the other SIR model that has 160 HP also, so canada has an SI and SIR model.

OK I also see that the Canadian SIR comes with a maple syrup dispenser.
