Oh Crap....censored

Is the plasti pin removed when adding installing a short shifter reusable? Of course my dads wife threw it away with my lugnuts. I'm not ordering one from a dealer, or paying for another shifter just for that. I'll go get a peice of metal and cut it to work if i have to, but i guess nothing is safe with the hoarder around. Ugh

I don't have it apart for a pic since i don't have all the parts now....but reading the cavi short shift install on the 2.2, there is a plastic pin that needs hammered or really forced out on the lever that attaches to the bar off the side of the shifter. Its on like step 6-9 of the how-to.

This one........http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/r...r/IMG_0023.jpg

Have you removed your shifter assembly yet?

Yep. Put back together too. Careful removing of the pin kept it intact, but if its strong enough is the question. Its tight so it should be fine, but i will see. Lol

Only question now, is how far do i push the cables back into the clip attached to the shifter? Is this the adjustment thing that takes trial and error. Damn i should have paid more attention when taking it apart. Lol

Done. Hardest part was putting the new boot on to my satisfaction, and figuring out how to get my $15 autozone shift knob back on. Which will have ti be replaced since the allens stripped out. But the pvc pipe around the shifter works pretty good at widening out the threaded part to fit the knob. Pics tomorrow, since its dark and i'm watching my dad who is all messed up on percocet, zanax, and idk wtf else. All prescribed since he had brain surgery, but still very funny.....
