B&M Shift +

Hey guys. It's that time for me. I'm itching to do something to my car, and I'm thinking the B&M Shift + is next. But before I go ahead with it, I wanted to get a solid opinion on some questions I had.

Is it safe? - I've been searching and reading up on it as much as I can, and it seems the majority of people have no complaints. However I saw some people bring up points that it could damage your transmission in the long run (even though on the product page it mentions extending the life of your transmission??) and I even saw one person saying that our transmission "learns down" and that driving around with the B&M enabled for too long can't mess up the shifts when the system is turned off. Is this true?

Is it worth it? - I know it's cheap, so this is probably a moot point, but is this thing really worth it? Does it make the car more fun to drive? Does it give the car more pickup? How is it on gas mileage? These are important factors for me.

Anyway, looking forward to the discussion to help me make a decision.

Edit: I should probably mention that this is a 2010 Cobalt LT Coupe.

OEM settings are for maximum fuel economy not racing performance. B&M shift + just alters these shift points and should not harm your transmission in anyways, however if you're going to beat the living crap out of your transmission without regular maintenance whether it is stock or slightly modified it isn't going to last. Expect the best be prepared for the worst.
