Codes P0700 & P757 Shift Solenoid B Stuck On

My car has been a brick now for 3 weeks, in the beginning I would lose all forward gears when the trans fluid would get hot and now I have my forward gears (albeit it moves in awful lurches) but no reverse, it'll back up affew inches then lock up completely and rev as if it were in neutral when you hit the gas. I have the solenoids to replace the bad parts but I need to know if its possible to remove the side of the trans without having to drop the whole thing out the bottom?

Yes, but it is not easy. You practically have to remove everything under the hood driver's side. Wheel inner fender, overflow tank, fuse block and so on. But doable.

Doable is all I needed to hear friend, thank you. I figured all that would have to come out when I was looking at it, but I wanted to be sure before I started pulled things out.

Thank you very much!

If you're alone with no hoist you can set aside a whole day, take pictures so you have references at re-assembly. Maybe even do a how-to write up for the forum....

The confusion has begun. ..
I haven't had time to start taking things apart yet so I've been starting the car and letting it run for some time to keep the juices flowing. This is where the confusion starts... the check engine light is off and all traces of the original symptoms are virtually gone, there is a small klunk when I go into drive but thats it. It moves forward and reverse and sounds normal now and I don't understand whats going on. I don't want to tear it apart if I don't have to but now it could be any number of issues or nothing at all. Its not safe in its current state and it's my only conveyance so I need to resolve this quickly. Any suggestions?
