Shift Indicator Light in Console Not Working

'09--wife pointed this out to me the other day. My daughter drives the car primarily (teenager). How big of a headache is replacing this bulb? Thanks.

Depends on how handy you are with tools I guess and how small your hands are. You will need to remove the upper console cover. I just pulled the whole shifter assembly out, then it was real easy to change the bulb. I put in an LED so I won't have to worry about it burning again.

Here's a DIYer.

The way I read it, sounded to me like he was talking about the '+' sign in a gear that appears on the IC in later (XFE?) manual models. It lights up soon after crossing 2k rpm, prompting you to shift early and conserve fuel.

Could of misread the post though.
