Tranny Has Reverse but No Drive

Hi everyone, I have an 07 Cobalt, auto transmission, nothing special. Drove it a couple hours away last night and everything was fine the whole trip. Shifted well, kept speed, no clunking.

After we were done, we got in the car and backed out of where we parked, shifted to drive, and nothing. There are no forward gears, just park, neutral, and reverse. Fluid was low but we got that filled back up, still nothing. Had it towed home.

Read another thread and what's different in this instance, I didn't have any CEL lights, no warning lights, just failure to move in drive. The only thing I noticed was the airbag light was flashing a couple times after I started the car but it stops after 4 or 5 flashes. I had it towed to a garage because I don't know transmissions. Any thoughts? Thanks guys

Do you have a check engine light? Does it work in first and second?

No check engine light. Press on the gas and it just revs the engine and rpm's jump. Put it in I or L and still nothing.
