When I topped off my trans, both times I've used Valvoline (the blue bottle, just the non-max-life stuff), so you should be good.

I think the blue Valvoline is good but prefer synthetic, that is why I'm considering the red Valvoline jug in the OP.

All those exclamation marks and lack of spaces are messing with my OCD.

I put Dexron VI in my F23 because they no longer made Dex III. Formula was compatible and since 6 is a bigger number than 3, figured it must be better too lol

My understanding is that 2006 and newer Cobalts came with the Dexron VI from the factory. Dexron VI is backwards compatible with II and III

I remember the owner's manual stating Dexron III. Car was an '06 G5 2.2

I did not have a hydra-matic, I had a Getrag F23. Still uses Dexron III ATF.
