Auto Gear Shifter Replacement

Hey everyone, was curious about the shifter in the auto cobalt. If they are interchangeable with another vehicle, to make mine different. At best would be an adapter that allows someone to put virtually any handle on. Ebay shows quite a few, altho every one shows not compatible with the cobalt. Open to suggestions, and thank you.

Coby made a great teardown thread of an automatic shifter a couple years ago. Take a look at it and see if it helps out.

I've seen that a couple times before, but no use 'cause I want to change the knob at the top of the auto shifter. I have taken it apart on a number of occasions and i have no problems with any of it, just the desire to change it up a bit.
i know there are universal adapters that will allow a replacement shifter knob, and i'm just curious about other cars which may be a suitable fit.
Thank you.

I've done a couple aftermarket shifter handles on my auto. By far my favorite is my current setup, which is actually an NRG e brake handle. It took a little work to get it to fit and work right, but once it's on there its good to go.

NRG ALUMINUM AC STYLE EMERGENCY HAND BRAKE HANDLE E-BRAKE GRIP COVER MATTE BLACK

My last setup was this:

NOKYA AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT KNOB CHROME | eBay

You'll need parts from the nokya shift knob to make the nrg handle fit right.

It took a lot of trial and error to get everything to fit correctly a work just right. Have a little patience with it
