Transmission Problem?

Hello all Cobalt enthusiasts-

I have a bit of a problem with my 2008 Cobalt LT. I searched around the forum but couldn't find anything regarding my issue, maybe I didn't search well enough. The problem lies in the transmission, but I'm not sure as to whats going on. I have a few symptoms that are happening. When I shift to drive from park, the car tends to "hang" in first gear and not shift right away. I either have to floor it to force it into the next gear, or throw it into low and shift the car myself. When it's "hanging" in first gear, I have very little wheel weight (very easy to turn the wheel) and my speedometer reads zero. Very rarely, it lurches, and when it finally shifts it reads "Power steering" on my LCD. I have around 115K on the car and I assume these parts haven't been changed in the entire cars life.

That problem isn't rare, you are losing GMLan between BCM and TCM. Re-seat the 2 blue/gray connectors on the BCM several times for starters, this cost nothing and might solve any corrosion build-up on the pins. Then let me know if you still have the problem and we'll it from a different angle.
