Battery Question

I have a cobalt battery problem ,
some times the battery voltage drops when driving and the it goes back to normal ,
but the battery negative side terminal post is getting smaller then the positive side post
and small metal flakes are falling off the negative terminal side mostly

can some one please help ?

Corrosion is normal on a led acid battery. Re-seat the connectors, clean the post and re-install connectors. If it keeps acting up you might have a bad cell. How old is the battery?

thank you for your reply on my battery problem ,
will try to do what you said and maybe change my battery soon to avoid future problems
this battery has been giving me problems on and off for the past 6 months ,
the battery is about 2 years old and they do not make them as in the past .
