ok so i have an 05 cobalt with 97000 miles already,only mods that i can see are injen intake and tsuno exhuast.
yesterday i took the car to the gm to have it checked because th cars been running lean and funny all of a sudden and they said my pcm is bad like it has ADHD its just messing up and making the car run fine sometimes and sometimes extremly off.
they want 645 for parts and labor but i searched online and found this website http://www.aesmodules.com they repair modules and mine repaired would be 185 and i just have to unplug it ship it to them they fix it and ship it back with a one year warrenty and i just have to plug it back in what do you guys think?

Well IMO half of it is a scam and here's why.
A lot of the problems with these cars BCM,TCM and ECU are dirty contacts or bad ground so there might not be anything wrong with your BCM at all but just by the fact of unplugging and replugging the unit might cure it for a while. Unplugging cleaning the contacts (which is probably the only thing these guys will do) will probably fix your problem all together.

The only way they can charge so low to fix these units is because there is nothing wrong with them to begin with. They just clean them to make them look good, test them and send them back. Since they clean contact surfaces that will mate to your connectors all will be most likely be good.

But if you don't feel comfortable cleaning these connectors yourself sending them out is an option.
