Just bought an 09 Cobalt afew weeks ago. The previous owner failed to tell me there had been some work done to the steering column. The cruise control does not work at all, no light comes on with the button either. He claims it has not worked since they did the work on it and that they just "didn't hook it up". So I took off the covers and what not to the column and best I can tell everything looks to be in connected.

Was wondering if there is any other place further down I could be missing or where what else I could look for.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Did you check the 2 amp fuse?

Also check your high brake light, if all 3 bulbs are burnt or disconnected cruise won't work.

The fuse and back brake lights are both good. Traced wiring as far as I can off the wheel and everything is hooked up from what I can see. Had run a scanner on it and i do have an airbag light on as well as one of the tpms sensors going out. Could this cause it? I just find it weird the button doesnt even light up.

The lamp could be burnt I suppose, but I know any wheel speed sensor will disable cruise don't know about TPMS though. Do you still have the owners manual, I believe there's a list of all that can inhibit cruise.
