I thought $40 for a b&m shiftplus was outrageous so i built my own and installed it into the dash for about 10 bucks.

Info and diagram found here - B&M Shift Plus Revealed - Transmission Forum - j-body.org - the jbody organization

Parts needed
Switch - AC 6A 250V 10A 125V 3 Terminals SPDT on Off on Round Rocker Switch 2 Pcs | eBay - $3

5ohm Resistor(10w) - Gold Tone Aluminum Resistor 10W Rating Power 5 Ohm 5 | eBay - $4

27ohm Resistor(10w) - Chassis Mounted 10W 27 Ohm 5 Aluminum Case Wirewound Resistor | eBay - $4

Real easy and clean install, works great! Wire into same wires as real b&m and your ready to go

It says all it does is boosts pressure...so basically its exactly the same as installing a shift kit into a th350 or something from back in the day..? or is this something different? I understand it's electronic but do I have the basic principal of it?

i would def have one if I had an auto, i hear cobalt automatics are quite good to begin with so higher line pressure would only make them last longer
