Hey everyone,
for the past few days I have been replacing the lower control arms on my wife's 06 cobalt. We had to cut the rear vertical bolt out since it was completely corroded into the bushing sleeve. I am now trying to find the CORRECT replacement bolt, and the dealership gave me a bolt that is correct in all specs EXCEPT the length of threading! the stock one has roughly 60mm's of threads, the new has 40mm's. all drawings, diagrams, and parts tech's I have talked to and consulted call out PN:11589009 as the correct replacement part. I cant get this thing to work, it threads all the way in but leaves about 1" of the bolt hanging down from the bottom of the sub-frame. am I missing something? where can I get the correct bolt?:confused:

heres a quick pic:

any help would be greatly appreciated

so the loss of 1" of threading will still work? it seems like I get it all the way threaded in then the shoulder cut onto the non-threaded shaft is stopping it from going in all the way

Banker, didn't your new one look like that too? I think you are ok.

You can tell it never reached that far on the old one anyways.
