Need to know what year engine is enrterchangable with a 2002 cobalt? Has rod knock..

2002? They started making the Cobalt for the 2005 model year.

The Cobalt wasn’t produced until early 2004, as a 2005 model. Previously the car GM made was a Cavalier. Various things changed on the 2.2 Ecotec, like the addition of an electronic throttle body.

Check again because you don’t have 2002 Cobalt. If looking at your VIN, the 10th digit indicates year. Fairly easy to decipher as it will be a number. 8th digit will indicate the type of engine.
