I am new this forum as this is the first Cobalt we have owned, my wife's car was wrecked and she wanted a Cobalt so we found a 2006 Cobalt LT. In the couple of weeks we have had it we have found and repaired rotted fuel lines, and the infamous sunroof switch bezel. We still have the mystery water thru the drivers door, and mystery rattles left to go. But a big issue, for my wife anyway, has cropped up today. The sunroof will no longer open properly.

Basically for the last few weeks she has only opened it maybe 3 times, with no issues. Today the sunroof opens to the vent position with no issues. If you try to open it further the drivers side seems to work but the truck (not sure of its the correct term) on the riders side does not pull the riders side back, causing the glass to pull diagonally. I tried to find a good exploded view so I could try to determine what part may need to be replaced. But I had no luck and it seems that you can only buy the full assembly and not individual parts.

Anyone with experience on these please reply and advise if I am stuck spending another 200+ bucks to buy a whole assembly or is there somewhere to get the individual parts to repair this. Thanks in advance!

To give some more background, when we first got the car we noticed the rear corner of the sunroof on the riders side would bounce when closing doors. We assume this is due to the missing/broken "clip" marked "A" in the images. Starting today however the part marked "B" in the images on the riders side only just moves past the end of the curved track which is part of the glass assembly. The drivers side part locks at the end of that curved track so it can move the glass back as it opens. Any insight into what we need to replace and where we can get it would be most helpful.
