Hey guys does anyone know if I can take off the cover of the timing chain to see the condition of the sprocket on the crank for the timing chain? I think that sprocket might be bad. I had the chain replaced about 50k miles ago and the mechanic says it jumped time.

Does anyone know if this ecotec engine is a zero interference meaning the vales wont hit the pistons if it jumps time?

The mechanic says i need a new head because the valves hit the pistons but i'm not so sure about that.

Ecotec is an interference motor. Timing chain usually jumps timing because tensionner fails.
