I am trying to install a Pioneer DEH-X6500Bt into my girlfriend's 2008 Chevy Cobalt LT. BUT... I didn't go out and buy the wire harness. So like i have done 3 or 4 times before i just cut the Old Plug for the factory Cd player and wired it all up with the New Plug, plugged it into the cd player and reconnected the negative cable to the battery. Well the cd player turns on and says it is playing my ipod and the radio but no sound at all. Yes i get i should have just went out and got the Harness. But without that does anyone have any idea what i should be looking into?

First off man. Don't ever do what you did! It's a 20 dollar harness

As for no sound. Make sure the wires are connected to the correct wires

I made sure they were all connected, fully covered (No bare wires), and checked three times that they were connected to the right wires. I have been looking around and have heard about running a remote wire for the amp. This is also a temporary fix, got the deck as a gift but no harness. I will be getting one asap just looking for a way to make it work for now.

Wait you have a factory amp? If so you need to run a remote wire from the pink wire on the stock harness to the remote wire on the radio.
