New to this forum...I have a 2008 Cobalt Sport. Because it's a Sport the after market rotors and pads have to come from the dealership so I'm told. Is that really the case?

I have talked with Autozone, Napa and they all say with the 17" wheels their not the same as the regular Cobalt LS or LT and to call the dealership.

You don't need to go to a dealership, Any part you need is at rockauto. If you go to a dealership you are going to spend a lot more than is necessary. A brake job is relatively simple, and wont take more than a couple hours to do it your first time. Go on youtube to watch a tutorial to make the job go even faster.

Yup. Rock Auto has tons. It is true they're not the same as the LS or LT, since they're 5-lug 4-wheel discs. But not dealer-specific, by any means.

2008 Cobalt Sport

Thanks for all the advice, the Sport is 5 lug w/17" wheels. Went to ACI Warehouse and they hooked me up with the right rotors and pads.
