Hello everyone,
This is my first time changing a radio, I literally have zero knowledge of this stuff. I’ve spent hours googling and keep seeing different things or getting more confused. I should have gotten wire harness and done it the easy way but I’ve committed to not doing that and I can’t turn back. Can anyone give me some advice? Some pointers?

I have my ground and constant connected to the appropriate wires but it still won’t turn on at all

The original radio would have known when it could run via the GMLAN through the green wire I believe. For your aftermarket radio, you need to provide an accessory power to the red wire. This is something that comes on when the key is in the ACC or ON positions. I can't remember which fuse I tapped into but I used a Bussmann Fuse Tap and ran the additional circuit up to the red wire.
