Used engine installed in January
The car has been running fine since

Recently tried the Air Conditioning (A/C) and discovered it does not work -- blows hot air instead of cold. A/C worked fine prior to motor change.

The garage that replaced the engine is a local radiator shop. When contacted to make an appointment re the A/C issue and asked if the problem might be related to the engine swap they had done in January, they said no, it's a separate system.

I know little about A/C, but expect the process of swapping an engine might involve removing the compressor and electrical connectors that might impact A/C. Of course, it's entirely possible the problem has nothing to do with the engine being replaced.

Questions:

1. What are the common causes of the air conditioning system not blowing cold air (loss of refrigerant is one, are there others)?

2. During an engine swap, what parts of the A/C are detached that might result in this problem?

3. Are there any checks I can do before it goes back to the shop next week?

Feedback appreciated.

Charles

Yeah you're going to have to bite the bullet on this one, they'll have to do a leak test and repair accordingly.
