Paid someone to swap out the alternator, mine was obviously bad. The car was losing all power. Lights, power steering, speedometer, rpm, gas gauge, eventually the car would die and roll to a stop. Replaced that. BUT he wired it backwards at first, which caused white smoke from the trunk by the battery and white smoke from under the hood on the driver's side. The car was fine for a while, but after a week or so it wouldn't shift right, the speedometer started jumping, the rpms would drop to 2k, and the car wouldn't shift and just roll. Sometimes letting off the gas and pressing it again would pick it back up but it would cut out again. I replaced the maf sensor, air filter, throttle body, it's a new battery, no corrosion on terminals, fuses are good. Could it have killed the brand new battery somehow? Tcm? Messed up a ground point? Fried the alternator again?

I drive my brothers to work every day and they're going to lose their jobs now, I'm out of ideas and just stuck.
