hey i just got a Pyramid Technologies Pyramid PB781X 1000 Watts 2-Channel Crystal Amplifier from a friend of mine and am using a rockford 12 in p3 punch seres sub. I did all the wiring correctly and all but the "protect" light comes on and doesnt let the sub play, we did all the testing using a tester to see if the power flow was alright and its all good. Whenever we unplug the two audio wires from the back of the amp and then turn on the car, the light goes away, as soon as we plug them in it comes on. we even used different speakers to try them on and the same thing happened. so my dad and i narrowed it down to this problem: the audio wire slots from the amp to the sub is not allowing a complete circuit to form. we dont know why tho. any suggestions? thanks!

ok it seems to be always the stupidest thing that messes me up when i do audio work. so heres some things that i would have done wrong. now i have no knowledge of that amp but. make sure your ground it tight. and all your conections are secure and not shorting anywhere. something that you seemed to have done is check your remote and make sure its on a good fuse i have mine hooked up to the ignition switch its like # 8 on my car. just some sugestions but i have no idea what light your taking about or what sub you have so maybe post a link to a pic of it or something

You should check all of you wires for good grounding and strong current going through them. You should also use new power, ground and remote wires and make sure that they are not broken or bent so that they can move the current through them properly. Also ground and power cables should be of equal size to ensure that the current can move through them properly.
