Who is Insignia?
Insignia the TV company has jumped on the band wagon with mobile electronics now and is selling them thru Worst Buy.

Will it sound allright? Don't know about the brand, as far as the equipment, I'm sure it will sound ok within itself.
But generally when using a line level adapter to innograte the rear speakers to RCA's, it sounds OK. If you want great, buy another headunit with RCA preouts.

line outs sound fine with cobalts. only thing is u cant really adjust the sound level properly..

ur going to have bass coming out of the subs as well as the speakers, so it may distort.

i got a pioneer avhp4000 headunit so i could turn on the hi pass filter (blocks bass in all speakers except the sub)

It'll bump. Unless you're a big audiophile, you probably won't notice enough of a quality difference to make a difference. The biggest issue where the HU comes in is on the mid and upper range quality.

Yea your fine using the factory HU.
I'm running a Memphis sub in a factory sub box off and Rockford amp and it sounds perfect and i have the factory HU.

I would go with a better sub through them the Insignia brand. Unless you already have them.
But it will sound good without changing the HU.
