My passenger CV axle tore last night while driving. Got it home safely now trying to replace the CV and the axle seal. I removed the outer ring of the seal but the metal part is stuck around the axle and wont come off. Any idea on how to get it off?

You’re going to have to use a pry bar to pop it loose. Not having the car on a lift to do this will be an issue as you don’t have the room for a large pry bar to create enough leverage. I think that seal/shroud has a little clip inside that holds it tight. Kind of like how the cv axles are held in tight to the transmission. If you can get a “lady’s foot” pry bar to fit in there that would make it easier in the small amount of space. I have all kinds of pry bars of different sizes though since I need them for suspension repair.
