Howdy All!!
I have been having an issue with my exhaust system. I had it checked out and my Cat is out. Has that happened to anyone on here? I would like to get it fixed but the dealership wants $950 for parts and labor. How hard is it to change it yourself? Also, my Cobalt has 126,XXX miles on it and I have never had a brake job done EVER. Its vibrates violently when I start to down and once I step on the brakes harder, it doesn't do it too bad. My heavy machinery step dad says its either my brakes (or the lack thereof) or my tie-rod ends. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Cat is easy. Buy a used one from someone who has upgraded to a high performance one.
Brakes are a little bit harder. I suggest you get help from someone who has done them before

A new catalytic converter is easy. Remove the two o2 sensors and 3(?) bolts for each flange. Its easier on a lift if you can. Zzp makes a good down pipe if you don't want to spend a $100 more on a oem one from chevy. Correct me if im wrong.
