Alright guys,
Took this past Friday off and got to work on another project. Before reading further I gotta say, I'm thrilled of how everything turned out. It was long, hard and required lots of concentration but I got it done and am very pleased with the results. The only small things I have noticed are that the left light got a bit of moisture while I was washing it today, I will re-seal it tomorrow. The other small issue is that I THINK that either the driver's side or possible both side projectors are minutely off rotation. But it really doesn't matter to me, it does not cause any disturbance on the road and is not all that noticeable. Last thing: I mounted the halos on the shrouds, which i am pleased with. I used silicone, 4 small beads at 4 spots on the shrouds. There is one bead that is visible, I should have not done one there, and only done the other 3, since I know now that it would have been enough to hold them, and not visible at all. We live and learn. Well, onwards with the good stuff...PICS;

(some pics were taken by Iphone so they are not so great. I used my brother's better camera to get some of the final shots as well as the night-time shots near the end)

RECEIVED THIS PACKAGE THURSDAY NIGHT, RIGHT ON TIME :D;

THE BUILD:
Took me over an hour to tape off housings for painting. The paint turned out amazing, one of my favorite parts of the build;

Cutting the reflectors took a while. I had to make it bigger several times, and then line up the projector straight in order to drill the 4 bolt holes. Once that was done and the projector was mounted, everything began to come together;

I used low-gloss black, high temperature paint. I'm really happy with the paint's color and texture.

My car without eyes...Kinda freaky;

Some of the wiring (harness, halo inverters, etc)

Assembly and Final Product

On an added note, I still have some aiming to do. I did slight aiming up at my dad's place, but since I was not on level ground, all I did was aim them low enough not to blind oncoming drivers. I realize the cutoffs aren't perfectly aimed quite yet in the pics, but they'll get there.

Also keep in mind this was my FIRST retrofit build. I learned a lot. I am talking with a friend on becoming local retrofit builders, since we do not have any here, and there is a large market for them. We'll see though...

If anyone has questions, just ask.

big thanks to arman14 and ADIDASS for all their support in the project. ADIDASS even gave me his number to call if I had questions. You guys rock! good luck on finishing your builds :D

looks sick man, i love the way the paint came out.

Morimoto is the same projectors Arman used correct?
morimoto is the bulbs actually. The projectors are FX-R's. Arman used FX-R's in his first build, but now he's using mini-morimoto projectors for his current build I believe.

Additional info: the bulbs are 6000k D2S morimoto's. the cutoff gives a lovely purple/blue, while the light output is quite white with very slight amounts of blue.

well depending on what kind of experience you have with car and general construction/fabrication, I would say for an average person it would be like maybe a 6, but for me, I had all the tools and resources since I have lots of car mod knowledge, as well as knowledge with other things like renovations work (my dads a contractor) which helps to figure out what to use, how to use it to seal things and attach things, and how to go about trimming, painting, etc.

I had taken headlights apart before, I had installed halos before, I kinda knew what I was working with. If you have all the right tools and some knowledge and take your time, then you should be able to do it.

But I don't suggest trying to finish it in one day (plus a bit of time the next day) like I did :p I woke up early and worked through the whole day, really concentrated and made sure not to screw anything up.

BTW thanks for all the comments guys! really appreciate it!!! Now all I need to go with these is an ss front bumper with the lip :D

On another note, I pulled the DRL fuse because I didn't want my projectors to be on during the day, just my halo's. I have the halo's wired to the parking lights, but those don't go on with DRL, and I've been forgetting to turn them off. If anyone knows which wire controls DRL, I would like to remove it from the HID's and put it only on my halos. Thx for help in advance.

Those are amazing!!!
I really like the black/chrome theme you used.
The cutoff seems to be perfect, but you should take some wall pics so we can see if the projectors are off rotation.

looks great. I am REALLY thinking about getting a set.

I might suggest taking out the orange "egg yolk" bulb and getting either a set of clear or chrome bulbs that burn amber. It would help clean up the off look. Just black and silver.
many people actually love the amber bulbs in there. Anyways what I would LIKE to do is get some switchbacks, but i got a $2200 school bill coming up in one month and i'm not quite there yet...so until I pay that...no mods. I can't complain i've done a ton on my balt this summer.

Thanks for the comment!!

next on the list is......

Pay school!!!!!!
then probably small things like leather shift boot and short shifter. and then I would like to upgrade my 2 subs to JBL w12GTI MKII in an infinite baffle setup. and some fresh LED tails

and eventually forced induction perhaps...I might decide to get another car or buy a house instead though at that point in time so we will see what happens!!!
